Host: Louise Minchin

Louise MinchinLouise Minchin is one of the BBC's top journalists and presenters. As a news anchor, she regularly presents Breakfast on BBC One, and the One O'clock news, and has a regular slot on the BBC News Channel.

Louise also presents Sunday Life on BBC with Colin Jackson which is broadcast at 10am on Sunday mornings from Yorkshire.

Earlier this year she presented Missing Live on BBC One. As a result of appeals made during the programme a dozen missing people were found. Louise has been asked to present the programme again in early 2009.

Louise can currently be seen presenting Real Rescues, every weekday on BBC1 and also Crisis, Claims and Cons, every weekday on BBC2.

In November 2009 she took part in Around the World in 80 Days for BBC1 to raise money for Children in Need. She formed one of six pairs of celebrities to re-enact the epic odysseys of Phileas Fogg and Michael Palin, bringing home curiosities to auction off in aid of the charity.

During her career as a news presenter Louise has covered the major news stories of the last decade and also presents on location. Over the last few years Louise has anchored the BBC's coverage major news stories including the 7/7 bombings, and she presented BBC One's ten O'clock news on the day Saddam Hussein was executed.

Louise trained as a journalist at the London College of Printing. She has a degree in Spanish from the University of St Andrews and spent a year living and working in Latin-America as part of her degree.

Louise first started at the BBC as a production assistant at the World Service, and the Today programme. After her journalism degree she went on to spend five years presenting on Five Live, on Sport on Five, Drive and Breakfast, and then moved to the BBC News Channel.

In 2007 she made a documentary "Darcey's Swansong" about the retirement of Britain's most famous ballerina, broadcast on BBC World and BBC News.

Louise has played herself as a news presenter in both Spooks, and Silent Witness.

Louise also chairs conferences and seminars and is a highly skilled conference facilitator and after dinner speaker. She has a wealth of experience hosting events and award ceremonies, both at home and abroad.
