OUR SPONSORS
Historic Scotland
Scotland's heritage is a huge part of who we are, both as communities and as a nation, whilst its built legacy is celebrated throughout the world, bringing many millions of visitors to Scotland each year who are keen to share and learn more about our fascinating past.
Historic Scotland exists to care for and protect Scotland's celebrated and historic environment. We look after more than 8000 monuments and run 345 sites across Scotland from Skara Brae in Orkney through to Scotland's number one paid for visitor attraction, Edinburgh Castle.
Our work covers a huge breadth of activity. This ranges from maintaining and preserving buildings and supporting traditional skills in the process, through to carrying out archaeological digs to help evolve our understanding of the past. We hold thousands of school visits every year and our Schools Activity Programme has an exciting variety of activities at sites throughout Scotland.
Through our work we are delighted to see the commitment and enthusiasm of so many young people to promote and support their local and national heritage. So much of this work needs to start at grass roots level and through the Young Scot Heritage Award we are delighted to showcase the fantastic work that goes on at community level by young people to help achieve this.
You only have to look at the past entries to be inspired. A young man who gave up his time to interview over 30 veterans as part of a UK wide campaign to record the impact and ongoing legacy of 20th century conflict on people today, or a skilled apprentice who is helping to bring an old building back to life.
Through this award we want to celebrate the hard work, enthusiasm and dedication of young people to help preserve this hugely important asset so that it can be enjoyed now and by future generations.

Creative Scotland

Creative Scotland is the national leader for Scotland's arts, screen and creative industries.
Our role is to invest in Scotland's future and help realise our vision to see Scotland recognised as one of the world's most creative nations.
We're doing this through an ambitious range of initiatives and investment programmes which will aim to bring the arts and creativity into everyone's lives.
We're investing in talent - from supporting a generation of young people to access music tuition, to the establishment of Europe's largest artist in residency programme.
We're commissioning new work from across all artforms, including new Scottish film and broadcasting production.
We're building new ways to engage audiences and improve participation in the arts for all. We're promoting Scotland's creative talent abroad, whilst recognising the creative places closer to home.
And throughout 2012, we're celebrating the Year of Creative Scotland - 12 months of activity to spotlight Scotland's vibrant cultural assets.
