Daily Record & Sunday Mail
I'm delighted to say that it's time for the Sunday Mail Young Scot Awards 2010. This will be our fifth annual celebration and hasn't time flown by! Last year we received record numbers of nominations and celebrated our finalists at a ceremony attended by hundreds of amazing young people, as well as stars like Sir Chris Hoy, The Saturdays and Tommy Reilly. It's always an event not to be missed.
Of course the impact of these awards goes much further than just the event itself. The Young Scot Awards support one of our key aims as an organisation, to create a true and positive image of Scotland's young people. Our winners, finalists and nominees are just the tip of the iceberg, with thousands of young people across the nation contributing to their communities in all sorts of ways. This is your chance to celebrate them and give them the showcase they deserve.
The Young Scot Awards wouldn't be possible without the vital support of our Dialogue Youth partners in each Local Authority. Neither, of course, would it be possible without our friends and colleagues at the Sunday Mail and our sponsors across the public, private and voluntary sectors. All these organisations share our belief and pride in Scotland's young people and our passion for celebrating their achievements.
Good luck to everyone that enters. Whether you end up taking home one of the trophies or not, our thank and appreciation go out to all the young people across our country working to make Scotland a better place to live.
