Global Reach Award
This award will focus on the plc which has, in 2011, grown and developed business across borders, as evidenced through sales, operations and recruitment.
Sustainability Award
This will go to a plc which shows it has clear commitment to sustainable practices. These can include: a commitment to ongoing advancement of sustainability practices as demonstrated by systematic review of policy and performance; the ability of companies to adapt to changed economic circumstances and ensure their ongoing sustainability particularly through the effective mobilisation of their workforces; a demonstrated engagement with staff, other agencies and communities to enhance sustainability practices; and internal mechanisms of staff participation and training in sustainability.
Outstanding Private Company Award.
This accolade recognises the achievements of Scottish-headquartered private companies with PLC standards.
AIM/Mid-size cap plc of the Year
This award is for a Scottish-headquartered listed company with a turnover of less than £100m, which demonstrates all round performance, based on profitability, growth and productivity.
Large plc of the Year
This award is for a Scottish-headquartered listed company with a turnover of more than £100m, which demonstrates all round performance, based on profitability, growth and productivity.
Social Investment in Scotland Award
This award takes into account activities such as investment in communities; sponsorship; employee volunteering; executives acting as board members of organisations acting for the public good; and charitable giving.
It is open to all Scottish headquartered companies but also to non Scottish-headquartered companies with a major presence north of the border to acknowledge their achievements. This reflects the fact that many of ScotlandÕs biggest employers are headquartered in England or overseas but their contribution to the country is perhaps not always appreciated.
The judges will be looking at activities between January 2011 and December 2011.

Digital Value Creation
This award recognises excellence in the strategic use of technology in four main areas:
1. Existing Customers - the use of technology to support relationships with existing customers, e.g. customer engagement through web site and emerging social media channels
2. New Customers - the use of technology to increase sales, support new customer acquisition and geographical diversification, including internationalisation
3. Internal Operations - the use of technology to support ÔInternal CustomersÕ (staff) and to achieve internal process efficiency and cost savings e.g. CRM, ERP, Intranet, Knowledge Management and HR Systems, Internal Staff Online Communities, e-Learning etc
4. Partners and Stakeholders - the use of technology to build strong relationships with business partners, e.g. suppliers, shareholders etc.

Scottish plc of the Year
The award of plc of the year goes to the Scottish plc with the strongest all round performance based on profitability, growth and productivity.
Scottish plc Board member of the Year.
The winner of this award will be a plc board executive who has played a leading role in moving his or her company forward with tangible performance improvements.
